Terms and Conditions – Jan Driving Academy

Introduction

​

Welcome to Jan Driving Academy! We are committed to providing high-quality driving tuition through our network of DVSA-Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs). By booking a course with us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Our Role

Jan Driving Academy acts as an agent, connecting learners with independent DVSA-approved driving instructors (ADIs). When you book with us, your driving lessons are directly with the assigned ADI, who operates independently of Jan Driving Academy.

2. Definitions

  • "You" – The learner/pupil booking the course.

  • "We" / "Us" – The self-employed DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).

  • "Jan Driving Academy" – The booking agent managing course arrangements and ADI allocation.

  • "Instructor" – The DVSA ADI providing your driving lessons.

3. Payment for Intensive/Crash Courses

  • A non-refundable deposit is required when booking an Intensive/Crash Course.

  • The full payment for the course must be made within 7 days of ADI allocation.

  • If the full payment is not received within this time, your course may be suspended or cancelled.

  • Any refunds (if applicable) will be processed to the original payment method.

4. Driving Lessons​

  • 48-Hour Cancellation Policy – A minimum 48-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Failure to do so will result in the full lesson fee being charged.

  • Provisional License – You must hold a valid UK provisional driving license and show it to the instructor at your first lesson.

  • Lesson Scheduling – Lessons are arranged directly between you and the ADI.

  • Punctuality – Late arrivals may result in a shortened lesson or cancellation without a refund.

  • Missed Lessons – If you miss a lesson without notice, you will be charged in full.

  • Health & Fitness – You must inform the instructor of any medical conditions affecting your ability to drive.

  • Unused Lesson Hours – Unused lessons are non-refundable and non-transferable but may be used at the ADI’s discretion.

5. Driving Tests​

  • We will assist in booking practical driving tests, subject to availability.

  • Your test appointment is part of your course duration.

  • If you miss your test, additional charges may apply for rebooking.

  • The instructor reserves the right to refuse to take you to the test if your driving is not at the required standard.

  • The DVSA may reschedule tests, and it is your responsibility to inform us of any changes.

6. Cancellations & Rescheduling​

  • Lessons – 48-hour notice is required to cancel. Failure to do so means the lesson must still be paid for before new bookings can be made.

  • Driving Tests – Failure to provide the required DVSA notice period may result in test fees being lost, and additional charges may apply for rebooking.

7. Liability​

  • Jan Driving Academy is not liable for delays, losses, or cancellations beyond our control.

  • We do not guarantee specific test dates or outcomes.

  • Any disputes regarding tuition should be addressed directly with the ADI first.

8. Data Protection & Privacy​

  • We handle personal data in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Your data may be used to manage lessons, secure early test dates, and communicate with you.

  • If you do not want us to use your data for test bookings, you may opt out upon request.

9. Behaviour Policy​

  • We have a zero-tolerance policy for abuse, aggression, or inappropriate behaviour toward our staff or ADIs.

  • Any violations may result in immediate cancellation of your booking without a refund.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law.
